Sammy Hagar’s Beach Bar Is No More, But Chickenfoot Carries On

Onetime Van Halen frontman and Jersey Shore philanthropist Sammy Hagar has announced the dissolution of his relationship with Caesars Entertainment, his partner in Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill at Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel and Casino. The beachside establishment, which opened in 2010, was damaged by the hurricane–how much damage is open to question.

On his website, Hagar says the Beach Bar was “destroyed,” but a spokeswoman for Caesars told the AP it was “damaged…but not destroyed.” There was apparently some financial haggling, probably based upon how much money was needed to repair it. Neither party could agree, so now the beach bar will reopen as Bally’s Beach Bar while Hagar searches for a new spot for another Sammy’s.

From the news section of Hagar’s official website:

While Hagar continues to explore a new partnership in the region, he and his Hagar Family Foundation will remain committed to the Atlantic City community through which he has supported local children’s charities for the last several years.

Hagar’s current band is called Chickenfoot.
