Want to be Bradley Cooper’s Neighbor? Homes for Sale in Jenkintown

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH
Ok, maybe not Bradley Cooper, but how about his mom? Cooper comes from the tiny borough of Jenkintown, just outside Philadelphia in Montgomery County, and from time to time, the Oscar nominee can be seen at local haunts like the West Avenue Grill. So why not consider looking at homes for sale in Jenkintown?

While Cooper is a nice draw, Jenkintown has plenty of other neighborhood appeals. For starters, it’s a hub for Septa regional rail (three lines stop there on their way into Center City), or if you need to drive, it’s a quick shot downtown. It offers a mix of single-family dwellings, rowhomes and condos, and many of the older homes ooze charm with their original finishings. It’s definitely a walkable community with a quaint commercial district that’s home to the historic movie theater, The Hiway, known for showing artsy, independent films. And the school district is excellent.

Jenkintown is also appealing to residents who like a tightknit community, with the requisite farmer’s market, as well as seasonal festivities and events. And, of course, Bradley Cooper.

did he grow up in Jenkintown borough or “Jenkintown” in Abington Township? I know his mother lives in Rydal which is in Abington and shares a zip code with Jenkintown so it is often referred to as “Jenkintown” despite not being within Jenkintown borough. Your description above is for the borough but the Hampton Road listing is in Rydal/Jenkintown/Abington and the Vernon Road property is in Jenkintown borough. Different school districts and different demographics.

So either Bradley’s family lived in Jenkintown borough and later moved to Rydal/”Jenkintown” in Abington or they lived in Rydal the entire time and the media has just incorrectly used the zip code.
