The Europhiles at Plenty Café are celebrating high summer with a spotlight and (bitter)sweet deals on aperitifs and digestifs throughout the month of July.

At the three Plenty locations in Queen Village, East Passyunk, and Rittenhouse, aperitifs and digestifs are $2 off all month long. Aperitifs, which are intended to stimulate the appetite before a meal, are typically served over ice with a twist of lemon; digestifs, which aid digestion after eating, are served either neat or with seltzer.

And flights of the aromatized wines, vermouths, amari and other digestifs — Plenty keeps a stock of 50 different varieties to choose from — are going for only $7. They’re also serving up rotating spritz recipes using California-based Lo-Fi Aperitifs’ vermouths and amari, as well as their rotating selection of amari floats made with Capogiro gelato.

In addition to everyday deals, Plenty has a slate of events planned to show off these herbaceous liqueurs.

On Friday, July 14th and Saturday the 15th, Plenty will pop up at Bainbridge Green (5th and Bainbridge Streets) with a special focus on Luxardo liqueurs. They’ll be serving up classic and modern takes on Negronis (it must be Negroni season!) and spritzers as well as crisp, bubbly Prosecco and Italian beer to complement seasonal bites and small plates.

On Friday, July 21st from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., the Queen Village Plenty is launching its own house-made vermouth and serving up flights of the herb-infused fortified wine featuring varieties from Spain, France, Italy, and the States.

And on Friday, July 28th from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., the East Passyunk location will showcase Don Ciccio aperitivi and amari, which have been produced since 1883. They’re offering specials, flights of Don Ciccio products, featured cocktails and Amari floats showcasing the spirits.
