Do This: Run This Liberty Bell-Inspired Route This Weekend

The route of this run results in an extremely patriotic post.

Add this to your to-do list of things to get done before you head to the Shore this weekend (you know, before the heavy drinking and eating commence): The Philly Distance Runners have organized a 10.5-mile run through Philly in which your steps will “paint” the shape of one of Philly’s foremost landmarks, the Liberty Bell. Hellooooo, Instagram-worthy Strava screenshot!

Here’s the deal: The run, called the Liberty Bell Run, starts on Saturday, July 1st at 8 a.m. at the northeast corner of 9th and South Streets in Washington Square West. The 10.5-mile route will take you through a series of turns (the organizers suggest printing the route to have handy, which they’ll be posting in the Facebook event page), eventually landing you at the finish line at 2nd and Lombard Streets. There is no pace too fast or slow for this run, it’s all about celebrating the 4th of July weekend the best way runners know how to — with a run, duh.

At this point, you may be wondering about the Instagrammable part that we mentioned, so here it is: Ya know how I mentioned that the route is designed in the shape of the Liberty Bell? Well, by using your run tracker along the way, you’ll have a virtual map of your extremely patriotic run, totally worthy of screenshotting. We suggest you take notes from this impressive Philly runner‘s ‘gram and post your Liberty Bell Run work of art to Instagram, then watch the likes roll in.

You can find more info and RSVP for the group run here.
