Philly Magazine's Wedding Checklist

  • Purchase other wedding attire and accessories (jewelry, shoes, etc.)
  • Schedule your first dress fitting. Make sure to bring your wedding shoes to this fitting!
  • Choose a makeup artist and hair stylist and reserve.
  • Check local requirements for a marriage license and blood tests in your state or destination.
  • Purchase or give all the information needed for accessories to bridesmaids (shoes, jewelry) and groomsmen (shoes, cufflinks, shirt stays).
  • Choose ceremony readings (your officiant can provide you with suggested readings) and readers
  • Begin compiling a list of songs you do (and do not) want played, and select songs for wedding party introductions, first dance, cake cutting, etc. Check out our wedding Q&A for suggestions from our Pros!
  • Reserve a room for your wedding night at one of the local hotels.
