Best of Philly 2009 New BYOB

Alphabet Soup Cafe

After more than a year with its doors closed, Jayson Grossberg’s whimsical BYOB reopened with a new menu. Gone are the expensive, fussy haute-cuisine plates; in their place are juicy fried chicken, perfectly seared strip steak, sweet lobster rolls, and a prime sirloin burger with fries, most for less than $20 an entrée. This simple take on American comfort food done right has won the long-established chef deserved new fans.
