A cluster of contemporary French bistro pitchers, one holding hydrangeas grown on the property, dresses up the windowsill above the kitchen’s 1940s enameled cast-iron sink and cabinets. Ken and Larry started a collection of brown-and-white transferware after realizing their modern dishes felt out of place here. The plates hanging above the sink were designed by Art Deco doyenne Clarice Cliff for Royal Staffordshire. “Never in my dreams did I think I’d be buying decorated dishes,” says Ken.
