How to Get a Philadelphia Pro Sports Mascot to Your Wedding

Important info for Eagles, 76ers, and Phillies fans.

Given how much Philadelphia loves its sports, we can pretty much guarantee that an appearance by a Philly pro sports mascot will be a warmly received addition to any wedding reception. Here’s how to book Franklin the Dog from the 76ers, the Phillie Phanatic, and Swoop from the Eagles for your wedding day.

PS — If college sports are more your thing, here’s a list of Philadelphia-area university mascots that are also ready and willing to show up.

THE PHILADELPHIA 76ERS

Mascot: Franklin the Dog

Cost: It varies based on the number of guests.

Time restrictions: The 76ers play forty-one home games per season, but as long as there are no conflicts with your day, he should be good to go! Franklin will dance and entertain for 35 to 45 minutes every hour.

When and how to book: Schedule two to three months in advance via the formal request form. Franklin will show up to the wedding in his large, blue van that he’ll need to park as close to the venue as possible, so be sure to reserve a parking spot for him.  You should also secure a changing/break room for him.

THE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES

Mascot: The Phillie Phanatic

Cost: Varies based on event length and size.

Time restrictions: Unfortunately, the Phanatic is crazy busy. He has 81 home games, visits fans at spring training, and spends the majority of the rest of his time at charity events. He’s only available to attend a very limited number of weddings, and appearances will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

How to book: Contact phanatic@phillies.com for inquiries.

THE PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Mascot: Swoop

Cost: $400

Time restrictions: Swoop can appear for one hour with a 15-minute break.

When and how to book: Fill out this form no sooner than three months ahead of time. You should receive a response to your request in about a week.
