Wow: This Couple Turned Their Wedding Into a Rock Opera

If you’ve ever hummed along with one of the songs in Jesus Christ Superstar (or, probably more accurately, gotten one of its songs stuck in your head for a week straight), you know what a rock opera is. Now please imagine attending a wedding that actually was a rock opera.

Cali-based couple Rebecca Bortman and Bryan Garza, both musicians, decided to turn their wedding into a musical show performed by them, vows and all. They wrote eight original songs, convinced their bridal party to be their backup singers (and rehearse via video chat, no less) and their officiant (a friend of the bride) to be part of the show.

Safe to say they pulled the whole thing off with flying colors (and lots of lights)—and wow do they get all the points for making their wedding a true and personal reflection of them. Take a look. (And sorry about getting Jesus Christ Superstar in your head.)
