Eagles Tight-End Zach Ertz is Engaged to U.S. Women’s Soccer Star Julie Johnston

And the award for most romantic Philadelphia Eagles player goes to: Zach Ertz.

The tight-end first showed his sweet side in this aww-worthy blog post about then-girlfriend Julie Johnston, who, at the time, was competing in the World Cup as a defender on the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team. You’ll want to read it for yourself, but in it, he details how they met, why they’re such a great fit for one another and raves about Johnston’s strengths both on and off the field. Needless to say, it’s really adorable.

And now, the good part: To top off their perfect love story, Ertz took Johnston back to the exact place where their paths first crossed (Stanford’s baseball field) and got down on one knee in the stands of the empty stadium this past Friday night:

He took me to the first place we met and I said YES! I get to spend forever with my best friend. The best day of my life!
