Picture of the Week: Caught in the Rain

We all know the old adage that rain on your wedding day will bring your new marriage good luck, but when it happens to you, it doesn’t feel that way. We had numerous locations planned in New Hope for Kaitlyn and Ryan’s photos, but the weather had different plans and we had to shoot all of their pictures indoors.

Right before I was about to leave at the end of the night, the torrential rain and heavy winds had slowed enough to be able to bring the bride and groom outside for a quick picture—but as I set up for the shot and just as they stepped outside, it all picked up again. I didn’t have an umbrella, so the front of my lens was covered with rain drops.

I took 43 images in that minute we were out there and only two were in focus and usable due the water on my lens. But you really only need one, and we definitely got that.”
