Jessica Baumgardner is a nutritionist and health coach (not to mention sometimes-Be Well Philly contributor!) here in Philly who happens to not only specialize in women’s health, but in specifically guiding ladies through transitional times in their lives (you know, like this whole wedding/marriage thing). And we think you should be pretty pumped, because we just heard she’s teaming up with one of our wedding-planner friends for a really cool event series just for brides!

The Healthy Bride – Tips & Sips series will be kicking off at 6:30pm on Wednesday, September 16th at Pineapple on Main in Manayunk, where Renee Patrone of Events by Renee has an adorable meeting space. The topic of their first event will focus on how to “Get That Glow, Girl”—i.e. on how to get glowing skin without having to apply five million dollars of Parisian facial products every morning and night. Jessica’s lesson will teach you pretty ladies how to get that glow from within by cleansing your body and giving it all the right stuff—and you’ll even get a few handy recipes to take home with you.

You’ll enjoy this lesson while sipping on fresh juice from The Juice Merchant and happy hour refreshments—and follow it up with a Q&A sesh with Renee, to whom you can put all your biggest wedding-planning stumpers. Every attendee—and the ladies invite you to bring along your bridesmaids for this one!—will be entered to win a free one-hour consultation with Jess and Renee and a 10-percent discount on all packages.

The event is free, but email the ladies at RSVP@EVENTSBYRENEE.NET to let them know how many of your entourage will be attending. And stay tuned for future events—Jess tells us topics will include things like how to manage stress (they suggest you bring Mom along for that one), wedding etiquette (bring the fiance) and how to feel physically great (read: not bloated or any other dreaded discomfort) on your wedding day.
