The couple: Nicole Chiaravalloti and Benjamin Gray of Lindenwold, NJ.

The proposal: We both took vacation time from work in July and decided we would do things around the area. He said he wanted to have dinner at Moshulu, where we had celebrated our very first anniversary.

That day it was raining and miserable and Ben kept complaining that he didn’t want it to rain during our vacation. I just kept saying it was no big deal. We had a wonderful, delicious dinner and as they were bringing out the dessert, the clouds cleared away and it stopped raining. Ben suggested we go up to the deck where you can see most of Penn’s Landing.

He said, “I love our life together, but there’s one thing that could make it better” and got down on one knee (yes – on the wet deck!) and asked me to marry him!  I knew it was coming at some point, but didn’t know exactly when and where. I immediately answered, “Of course, I will!”
