This California Couple is Traveling the Globe to Get Married in 12 Countries Over Three Months

This story is amazing for two reasons: First off, the couple is traipsing across six continents to exchange vows in some of the world’s most spectacular destinations (that’s pretty fantastic on it’s own, we think) and secondly, both the bride and groom are acrobats—so safe to say the images they’re taking at each location are unlike any wedding photos you’ve ever seen.

Unreal, right?

Rhiann Woodyard and Cheetah Platt decided on a three month “wedding tour” after realizing that a perfect wedding in their hometown of Los Angeles would cost much more than their budget allowed. They also couldn’t quite decide what kind of wedding they wanted to have (indoor or outdoor, daytime or night), so they opted to celebrate their new lives together with a one-of-a-kind adventure around the globe.

With their backpacks packed—a $100 tux and a $100 dress included—the couple began their journey on February 8, and have already gotten hitched in Colombia, Spain, Ireland, Morocco, Egypt, Kenya, India and Thailand. Although their transportation and lodging were booked beforehand (it took them eight months to plan the whole thing), they’re playing the rest of the trip largely by ear.

As for Woodyard and Platt’s family and friends, they’ll get to witness just one of the couple’s vow exchanges in person, when they tie the knot in Big Bear Lake, California on April 18.
