Now that the (dreary) winter weather has finally set it, we’ve switched our mindset from fall-inspired weddings to those that involve warm seasonal cocktails, rustic winter blooms and lots of sweet holiday treats.

As with a wedding’s decor and food offerings, bridal fashions are also influenced by the change in seasons, and it’s safe to say that Philly’s winter brides will need a bit of extra help keeping warm on their Big Day. A fantastic—and fashionable—way to combat winter’s chilly temps: Top off your dress with a snugly fur wrap or stole.

Whether you choose to rock your fur down the aisle or you just toss it on for the reception is completely up to you, but we guarantee you’ll be glad you brought it along (not to mention it’ll look much nicer in pictures than if your groom lends you his suit jacket).

Below we’ve rounded up a few shops and bridal salons where you’ll find wedding-ready furs. And please do let us know if you pick one up to wear to your wedding!

BHLDN
Where: Online
What: Now that you’ve flipped through BHLDN’s gorgeous new lookbook, we’d like to direct your attention to the many cover-ups they offer for cool weather weddings. In the fur category you’ll find the Sadie Wrap, a cozy feathered shoulder covering that comes in both ivory and blush.

David’s Bridal
Where: Multiple Philly-area locations
What: You’re probably well aware that David’s Bridal is stocked with all of the bits and pieces you need to complete your Big Day look—and that includes winter weather accessories. They have multiple faux fur wraps and capelets to choose from (they even have matching muffs for you and your flower girl) depending on the style you’re after.

The Dress Matters
Where: 7 East State Street, Media
What: Debbie Collins’ Delaware County bridal shop is home to quite the selection of sample designer wedding gowns and bridal accessories. If your bridal style calls for a little something to stave off the winter wind, check out the faux fur cape they carry here (it comes it white, ivory and black).

Jacques Ferber
Where: 1708 Walnut Street, Rittenhouse; 503 W. Lancaster Avenue, Suite 250, Wayne; and 4001 Kennett Pike Route 52, Wilmington
What: The Jacques Ferber team have been leading the way for fur in Philly since the early 1900s. At their three area showrooms you’ll find fur coats, jackets and small pieces of all kinds, and each one is sure to make a statement when worn atop your beautiful gown.

Lovely Bride
Where: 237 Market Street, Old City
What: Once you’ve perused through all of the gorgeous dresses at Lovely Bride, take a peek at the handful of fur coverings that the shop has to offer. We love Carol Hanna’s Australis faux fur shrug but there are also some super pretty pieces from Ivy & Aster, too.

Saks Fifth Avenue
Where: 2 Bala Plaza, Bala Cynwyd
What: Whether you’re on the hunt for something white (like Tess Giberson’s Abstract-Plaid Fur Jacket) or you’d rather go dark with this black Rebecca Minkoff cardigan, Saks’ fur department is worthy of a visit. Among the racks here are vests, shawls and all types of coats to make your walk down the aisle a warm one.

The Wedding  Shoppe
Where: 503 West Lancaster Avenue, Suite 110, Wayne
What: Owner Pattie Lamantia has had many winter brides request cover-ups for their dresses, so she has options available both in the store and by special order. On display now in the shop you’ll find a plush faux fur wrap by Donna Slayer’s Fabulous-Furs.
