There’s a Near Replica of Amal Alamuddin’s Wedding Dress In the Late Oscar de la Renta’s Gorgeous Fall 2015 Bridal Collection

Even before the news broke last night that the talented and beloved designer Oscar de la Renta had passed away at the age of 82 (the New York Times has a really lovely obituary I recommend), I was planning to share the following really cool news with you, brides—and now, today, it feels even more fitting.

Obviously, as we have much discussed here (and praised and envied and drooled over), Mr. de la Renta most recently designed the gorgeous wedding dress of the gorgeous Amal Alamuddin for her wedding to George Clooney. And while that was, of course, a bespoke gown created specifically for her (remember Vogue‘s piece on her fittings?), there is a gown in the late designer’s fall 2015 bridal collection that is very nearly a replica of the new Mrs. Clooney’s off-the-shoulder ivory lace gown, available for purchase by you (pictured above; here’s a different shot of it, too). His bridal line hasn’t been available right here in Philadelphia since Suky closed several years ago, though there are several stores that carry it just a quick train ride away.

I just went back this morning and watched Vogue‘s video of Kate Bosworth’s fitting at the designer’s studio right before her 2013 wedding, and because it’s so lovely, I’ll share it again here.
