Ann Marie’s ring!
The couple: Ann Marie Kavanaugh and Sean Carlin
The ring: My ring has a cushion-cut center diamond surrounded by a diamond pavé halo set on a white-gold split-shank diamond band.
Sean and I never went ring shopping in the five years we’ve been together, so the ring (and the proposal) was a complete surprise! He chose to custom design my engagement ring with Benari Jewelers.
The proposal: Sean planned a night in the city, which I thought was a dinner with his company. We had some time before the reservation, so we walked around LOVE park. (Little did I know this was the plan all along.)
We walked up to the sign to get a photo and when I turned around he was on bended knee. A few moments later, he pointed across the way to his photographer friend who had captured the entire moment on camera—and the tourists in line behind us had taken a video clip of the proposal!
We had a mini engagement photo session around City Hall, followed by champagne at the Ritz-Carlton. Dinner was for just the two of us at a perfect table inside The Capital Grille. It was an amazing night we’ll never forget!!
The band: I’m thinking either two thin pavé bands—one for each side—or just a thick pavé band, we’ll see!
