Braids, at their core, are bohemian, for sure—but as they’ve grown in popularity, brides and their hairstylists have evolved the look into more formal options perfectly fit for a dressed-up occasion like a wedding.

Tasha Jetter, a stylist at Rittenhouse’s AMS Luxury Salon and the creator of this braided bun, has a lookbook brides can flip through at their consultations before she works with them to choose a style that flatters face and dress. Most opt to sweep it all up, she says—but whether it’s sleek and chic or loose and easy, we hope this touch of boho is here to stay.

Price at consultation. Catherine Deane Ruth gown, $800 at BHLDN.com.
