Jessica Simpson Got Married This Weekend, and All We Get Is This Beautiful Teaser Portrait

Plus a few more fun details.

Well I don’t know about all of you, but I—and everyone I know who has loved J. Simp since the very first 2003 episode of Newlyweds (R.I.P., Nick & Jessica the Couple)—have been refreshing a long list of websites all morning hoping for a picture of her in her dress as she married longtime fiance Eric Johnson this weekend.

Well, we don’t have that, really—but until they give us the (exclusive) full story, People, at least, has released this portrait of Jessie that at least gives us a glimpse:

We do know that the dress, which we only have the teensiest glimpse of here, is a custom design by Carolina Herrera—here’s a sketch—and that it’s champagne with gold embroidery. (We like everything about that sentence.) She finished off her look with a cathedral-length veil, Brian Atwood shoes, and Neil Lane jewelry. And now we wait with baited breath.

In the meantime, other things we know:

  • They had a pre-wedding, 4th of July barbecue for their guests the night before.
  • Supposedly, the new Mrs. Johnson was so nervous she said her own name instead of Eric’s during their vows.
  • Their daughter Maxwell was the flower girl and their son Ace was the ring bearer, and the couple says they “are overwhelmed with complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment.”

Here’s hoping Friday’s issue of People has everything we’ve been waiting for.
