Danielle’s ring!
The couple: Danielle Rotellini and Paul Burgan from Galloway in South Jersey.
The ring: My ring has a diamond surrounded by a diamond halo and all set in white gold and it sparkles like crazy! Paul got it at Zales—I had given him previous ideas, but he chose the ring all on his own.
The proposal: We decided to celebrate Christmas by going to Disney World in early December, and that Thursday, we made plans to spend a day with some friends of ours. Little did I know that they were in on the plan.
I’m a photographer, so our friends wanted to take advantage and have their own little photo shoot in the Magic Kingdom; they have a little girl on the way so we decided to capture some maternity photos. We went into the park and walked to a private area with pink roses everywhere rand not a soul in sight. Cinderella’s castle was in the background, and it couldn’t have been a better spot to capture a few memorable photos.
I took a couple of pictures of them posing different ways, and then my friend Kirstin asked if she could take a couple of photos of us. Since I’m not often in front of the camera, I said of course. I showed her how to use my camera, she snapped a couple of photos—and then I gave my fiance the best line to start the proposalL I turned to her and asked, “Are there any more poses we should do down here?” My fiance, behind me, got down on one knee with the ring in his hand and said, “I have one more pose.”
I was in shock—I’d always hoped it would happen in my favorite place, and he made me the happiest person on earth. He told me how much he loved me and how happy he is that I’m a part of his life, and then asked me to be his wife. I jumped and kissed him and said yes!
We got to celebrate the rest of our vacation, and it was an amazing trip.
The band: My ring actually came with two diamond bands that go on either side, so I’ve already got my full set!
