If there’s anyone you should trust for sage advice about wedding dress shopping (other than us, of course!) it’s the one and only Randy Fenoli, TLC’s resident wedding gown connoisseur.

Luckily he’s never lacking in useful tips and tricks—he even penned a guidebook called It’s All About the Dress: Savvy Secrets, Priceless Advice, and Inspiring Stories to Help you Find “The One.” We think the title speaks for itself, don’t you?

Well, just in case you haven’t had a chance to read Randy’s book cover to cover, here is a neat, compact list that details the television personality’s 10 best tips for shopping for the Dress. Some are a bit obvious, like “never purchase a wedding dress without trying it on first,” and others are more insightful, like “everyone has an opinion; make sure yours is heard” (more on that here), but all of them are pretty on-point and worthy of a quick read.

We suggest you take a few notes and tuck them into your purse for your next bridal appointment.
