15 Real-Bride Stories About Wedding-Night Sex (Or, You Know, Lack Thereof)

A few issues ago, we decided to pull the curtain back on what we called the myth about wedding-night sex—the myth being that the first husband-and-wife sex you will have will a) actually be on your wedding night and b) be magical—and reveal the real truth to brides-to-be, so that they wouldn’t feel alone the morning after their weddings:

Most people don’t have sex on their wedding night. And if they do, well, it’s not usually something that results in fireworks. We backed this theory up with stories from Philly brides about their wedding-night escapades.

Not too long after that, we had numbers to back us up, when statistics were released that showed that more than half of couples didn’t have sex on their wedding night! And since then, we have seen quite a few pieces written on this subject, often with quotes from recent brides verifying that these statistics did, indeed, apply to them.

Well, here are a few more, because these stories of drunken, tired, non-consummation are always fun, are they not? Plus, it always helps to know that you’re not the only ones who were much more concerned with getting your heels off, your hair de-bobby-pinned, your room service ordered than you were with knocking boots. Enjoy.
