VIDEO: The Phillie Phanatic Got Down at a Local Couple’s Wedding This Weekend

One day long ago, in a land far away, I witnessed as the Phillie Phanatic appeared on the dance floor at a wedding, swept the bride around for a few tunes, and then disappeared into the night, mysteriously, from whence he came.

And by that I mean, at my friend and colleague Emily Goulet’s wedding some five years ago at the Manor House at Commonwealth (you know her from her late column here on PW, Diary of a Marriage), her and her husband’s friend, who just so happens to be one of the dudes who is the Phillie Phanatic—and who also just so happened to be one of J.’s groomsmen—donned his suit, riled up the guests, danced on the dance floor, spun Em around for a bit, and made for some really fun pictures and memories.

And today, our friends over on phillymag.com have a video showing the Phils’ beloved mascot getting down at another Philly wedding at the Ballroom at the Ben! Looks like he’s still got his moves. Fun! And congrats to David and Melissa. Take a look.
