I don’t care what other proposals I see this week or even possibly in 2014, Washingtonian groom David Slater WINS.

This romantic, clever, wonderful boy surprised his girlfriend, Bethany Albert, with a Pride and Prejudice-themed proposal over the holidays, and by that, I do not mean he simply mentioned to her that she had “bewitched him body and soul” before popping the question.

No, my friends, there were costumes. And characters, and staging, and script-reading, and gloriousness. Her whole family was involved, which is so sweet. It is so creative and cute that I really feel even the non-nerds among us will enjoy this—and the English nerds like me, well, see my first sentence.

Take a look. Happy Monday.
