Hope Chest Lingerie Opens Second Boutique in Center City

Yipee!

A so-pretty Jenna Leigh Lingerie set at the new Hope Chest in Center City. Please excuse our beautiful iPhone pic.

We are so pumped, brides, and you should be, too: Center City just got a new lingerie store!

And the thing is, you may actually already know and love it. We’ve been buds with the Hope Chest since the days when they lived about two doors down from Nicole Miller in the Shops at the Bellevue, and we  still are now, in the years since they moved to Haverford Square on the Main Line. (You can pretty much see their beautiful wares on the pages of any issue of Philadelphia Wedding, too.) And what’s so fabulous is that this time, they’re not moving—they’re multiplying!

Jen Rosen, the longtime manager of the Haverford location, is opening a second location of the darling lingerie boutique on Chestnut Street in Philadelphia. Her plan is to do a soft open Saturday, September 1, and then, she’ll celebrate with a grand opening a few weeks later on the 19th. (Stay tuned for the deets on that event—she’s partnering with Free the Girls, the wonderful non-profit that provides jobs for women rescued from sex trafficking.)

We just got a sneak peek of the store, and we couldn’t help but think it was like a candy shop! The store itself is beautiful and homey (a cozy little seating area in the entrance way, swirly wrought-iron railings leading up to the main floor, pastel-colored dressing rooms with mini chandeliers, cream-colored antique-y wardrobes and dressers to house the goods), and we can pretty much promise you are going to be in love with the merch. She’s got bra and underwear (bikini, thong, boyshort, tanga, etc., etc.) sets from hometown girl Jenna Leigh Lingerie (pictured, and our personal choice for Best of Philly this year!) and Simone Perele, the must-have bridal bustier and other goodies from Le Mystere, and lots of gorgeous pieces (the type that you kind of want to figure out how to wear as actual clothing) from Brulee, which you aren’t going to find elsewhere in Philly. She’s got nighties and robes and PJs, plus other sweet treats like candles from Voluspa.

Jen seriously knows what she’s doing when it comes to fit—which is especially important when you’re considering what to wear under the Dress—and loves helping brides pick out a few fun things for their honeymoon. So make sure to check it out the next time you’re in Rittenhouse! Your trousseau—and your groom—will thank you. 1937 Chestnut Street, 215-665-9169.
