The date and location have been booked, your guest list is finalized, and it’s now time to get creative with the all-important invitations and save-the-dates.We realize you’ve already got endless options to choose from, between the color and style and font and paper weight and all that jazz—but we just have to tell you about our latest stationery discovery: Allison Krosnick of Hand-Painted Weddings.

Like its moniker implies, these custom invites feature delicate, hand-painted watercolors that Allison designs to reflect each couple’s unique relationship. A veteran graphic designer, Allison envisioned her idea for Hand-Painted Weddings four years ago after getting engaged and realizing the significance of personalizing each element of her Big Day. Now, after launching her business earlier this year, Allison says she has made it her mission to encourage others to bring personalized expressions to their own “I Do’s.”

Inspired by the “ordinary simplicities in life,” Allison creates themes around which she designs each set of invites and save-the-dates. Working from a photo she’s taken or a still life, Allison hand-paints each scene before scanning it onto the computer and adding the desired typography. The Hand-Painted Weddings online shop already has an assortment of themed invitation sets that are available to purchase either with or without RSVP cards included. For these ready-made designs—which begin at $270 for a 50-pack of invites sans the RSVP cards—Allison says to allow 6 weeks for processing prior to when you plan on mailing your invitations. (Note: it’s suggested that you send them 6-8 weeks before your wedding date).

If a bride and groom decide to have a custom invitation made for them, Allison will aid in the search for photos or pieces of inspiration that the couple would like to incorporate into their design. When a theme is settled on, Allison paints two different interpretations for them to choose from, going through multiple rounds of editing to perfect the overall look. For custom invites, soon-to-be newlyweds should contact Allison nine weeks prior to the day you’d like to send them out. And because customized projects vary, pricing is discussed in the initial brainstorming phase.

Allison can be reached by email at info@handpaintedweddings.com or by phone at 215-760-6167.
