Brown Betty’s Pretty Ombre Cakes

We're digging this trend on the sweet stuff.

Surely, we are all familiar, by now, with this particular color-fading trend. It started a few seasons ago on clothes and eventually made its way to beauty (see: hair; nails). Sometimes, those takes on ombre felt like hits, and sometimes like misses—though we have to say, now that it has found its way into the wedding world, we’re really kinda digging it.

This past weekend, Brown Betty Dessert Boutique celebrated business manager Norrina Brown’s birthday with a couple of these too-cute cakes, showing the bakery’s own spin on the ombre trend. Love the way the fade hits all the right shades of pink, from a rich magenta and a festive fuchsia, all the way to petal pink and out to cream. And we are kind of obsessed with the ruffly layers of fondant, which are just so girly and playful and fun, and seem like the perfect vehicle for knocking the ombre thing out of the park.

What a pretty wedding cake this would make! Are any of you incorporating ombre into your cake or any other aspects of your wedding?
