Bride-to-be Blogger Carolyn: Bridesmaid Dress Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

Bridesmaid’s dress shopping is something that I’ve been procrastinating for a while now. To be honest, I think I probably should have already started shopping, but I’m just not too sure where to start. There are just so many choices!

First off, my wedding is in the summer, so I’d like dresses that are made from lighter fabric. I really like the way chiffon looks—flowy and airy, perfect for summer! However, I’m not married to the idea of the same fabric on every girl. I feel like a little variation is nice, and lets the girls choose what they like best. I also thought short dresses may be the way to go … but then this summer’s maxi dress-trend has me doubting myself. Maybe I should let the girls choose their length as well? I just don’t know!

The color of the dresses is also up for debate. I am so tempted to put them all in varying shades of light pink or peach, but I do respect that everyone (including Chris) may not love pink as much as I do. Therefore, I’m a little more inclined to choose a gray or blue dress. Do they all have to be the same shade? That one I’m unsure about, as well.

I realize that these aren’t life-or-death decisions I’m making, so I just don’t understand why I’m so indecisive about this! To be honest, I just want to have the bridesmaids in something they feel good in, and are comfortable wearing. I think I just need to bite the bullet and go to a store and get started. Wish me luck!

Did you have trouble figuring out where to start in choosing your bridesmaids’ dresses? What decision should I make first and go from there—color, style, or fabric?
