Bride-to-Be Blogger: Meet Leslie

This local bride has a year before she ties the knot, so sit back and enjoy the journey as she plans the Villanova wedding of her dreams.

Hello! My name is Leslie and I am so excited to be a bridal blogger for Philadelphia Wedding. I am recently engaged and I couldn’t be more excited about moving forward with my wedding-planning process and I am even more excited that I get to share everything with you!

So I guess I should start at the beginning of my bridal bliss. My fiancé and I have been dating for the past four years. We were friends for two years, then started dating senior year in college and have been together ever since. We make each other laugh and he is my best friend. I couldn’t be happier about us getting married and sharing our life together.

We got engaged this past October and I can’t believe six months of having a fiancé has already flown by! I pretty much call him my “fiancé” whenever possible. Since you only get to use that word for a short time in your life, I say use it up! Yes, we have been engaged for a little while now, but I haven’t done much in terms of our wedding planning yet. I keep telling myself we still have so much time and I don’t want to do too much too soon, but I can’t believe we are almost coming up on the one year mark! In terms of planning our wedding, we have a few of the main details sorted out, but that’s about it. My fiancé and I are both graduates of Villanova University so having my wedding there has been a dream of mine since I was in school. It isn’t an easy process of getting approval to get married at Villanova, but after a little wishin’ and hopin’ we managed to set the date for May 21, 2011. I knew I wanted to get married in the nice warm springtime weather and May just seems like the perfect month to me, but is it too early now to start crossing all our fingers that it won’t rain? Rain pretty much won’t work for me on my wedding day, but that’s another story.

I know I still have over a year before the big day and there is still so much to do, but I just want to take my time, and enjoy this ride. I know it will be over as soon as I blink and I want to enjoy this next year of being engaged. So sit back and relax and enjoy this journey with me because it’s going to be an awesome ride.

And just to tell you a little more about me: Aside from being a new bride-to-be I also work full time and am going to school to get my Masters in Food and Nutrition. When I am not wedding planning, working or studying I am almost always blogging for my website, And Her Little Dog Too, which is where I share my healthy lifestyle with a focus on eating, exercising, and running in Philadelphia.
