On Monday, December 8, 2008, the Philadelphia 76ers, coaches, top donors and supporters gathered at Walnut Street's Tiffany store for a "Mystery Blue Box" fundraiser. Guests enjoyed hors d' oeuvres, an open bar, a jazz trio and a chance to win a Tiffany diamond-and-sapphire pendant. Proceeds benefited Comcast Spectacor and Sixers Charities.

On Saturday, December 6, 2008, Chestnut Hill Historical Society hosted "A Hollywood Gala," their largest annual fundraiser. Food was provided by Bacchus Catering and guests danced to music provided by the John Hoey Orchestra.

On December 4, 2008, Beneficial Bank held the Back on My Feet Bash. Guests enoyed food, music, and inspirational speeches by guests including Bart Yasso, Chief Running Officer of Runner's World. Back on My Feet is a non-profit organization that promotes the self-sufficiency of the homeless by engaging them in running as a means to build confidence, strength and self-esteem.

On December 4, 2008, The Friends of Children’s Crisis Treatment Center invited friends and acquaintances to the Oceanaire Seafood Room for a Friendraiser. as an effort to expand the organization’s network of volunteers and supporters. The Children's Crisis Treatment Center is committed to providing high-quality, comprehensive mental-health services to Philadelphia's neediest children and their families.
