On Wednesday, November 10th, Philadelphia magazine and PA Wine & Spirits presented the Seventh Annual Philadelphia Whiskey Festival at the Ballroom at the Ben. Guests tasted an elite collection of fine spirits including whiskey, bourbon, scotch, tequila, vodka and more. The evening also featured an exclusive tasting of Remy Martin’s Louis XIII Cognac for 19 lucky guests who were taken to the SugarHouse Casino Lounge to enjoy gourmet desserts and Melitta coffee paired with Tres Leches Triple Cream Liqueur. On Thursday evening, November 4, 2010, at the Hyatt at the Bellevue in Center City Philadelphia, Mayor Michael Nutter and Governor Edward G. Rendell joined families and supporters from the Academy in Manayunk for the annual AIM for the Stars Gala to honor Congressional candidate and former Philadelphia Eagle Jon Runyan; renowned author, parent of a child with learning differences, and great granddaughter of Henry Ford, Anne Ford; and Co-Founder of Philadelphia Schools Partnership, Michael O’Neill for their leadership in education and literacy for children who learn differently.
On Thursday, November 4, 2010, at the Bellevue, Suzanne Roberts, Rosemary Turner, Gilda Jean Louis, and Rusleykah Chevalier were honored to receive the 2010 Spectrum Awards.
On November 2, Philadelphia magazine's Restaurant Club hosted its final event of the year. Presented by Lexus, the event was held at Jose Garces’ latest restaurant venture, JG Domestic. The night featured outside car display for the Lexus ES and the Lexus RX, delicious food and wine pairings, an appearance by Jose himself, and Philadelphia magazine's food editor Kirsten Henri.
