On Tuesday, December 2, 2008, David Yurman and Philadelphia magazine presented a special shopping event at the David Yurman store in the King of Prussia Mall. The event was hosted by Tammy Reid, and benefited Laurel House, an organization dedicated to ending domestic violence. Guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and exclusive shopping.

On Friday, November 28, 2008, the 129th Philadelphia Charity Ball was held at the Park Hyatt at the Bellevue. On Wednesday, November 19, 2008, The Parkinson Council of the Greater Delaware Valley held its Inaugural DANNY Award luncheon, which memorialized the life of Dan Aaron, Comcast co-founder, and honored Comcast's Ralph Roberts, chairman, executive and finance committee, and Julian Brodsky, vice chairman.
