On Saturday, November 5, 2011, the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia held its annual black-tie dinner dance, The Carousel Ball. The party was held at the Hyatt Recency Philadelphia at Penn's Landing and proceeds will provide vital funding for Children's Hospital's Center for Stimulation, Advanced Education and Innovation, and the Pediatric Endoscopic Surgical Training and Advanced Laboratory (PEDESTAL). On Saturday, November 5, 2011, the French International School of Philadelphia celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Comcast Center. Sponsors included SAP America; Bancorp; the law firms of Willig, Williams & Davidson; and Feldman Shepherd. All proceeds went to the students of the International School, located in Bala Cynwyd. On Thursday, November 3, 2011, the Philadelphia Zoo hosted its annual Conservation Gala at the Downtown Marriott Hotel. Guests enjoyed Indonesian music and dancers and dined on local, organic cuisine. The event also honored the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Program by awarding a Global Conservation Prize of $100,000.

On Friday, October 28, 2011, the YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity hosted its annual John Wanamaker Awards Gala at the elegant Loews Philadelphia Hotel. The event honored exceptional men and women for their efforts to educate, motivate and positively impact individuals, organizations and local communities. On Sunday, October 23, 2011, more than 800 women from across the Delaware Valley attended the Pink Roses Teal Magnolias Brunch at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill.
