On Thursday, March 24th, Philadelphia magazine hosted an exclusive cocktail party to honor 28 members of Gen X and Gen Y who were named ‘The Faces of the New Philly’ in the March issue. Approximately 150 guests gathered in the vault at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House to celebrate the remarkable impact these Philadelphians have made, and will make, for years to come. On March 23, Philadelphia magazine hosted Part III of the Rittenhouse Row Luxury Dinner Series, presented by Infiniti, at ZAMA in Rittenhouse Square. Guests indulged in Chef Hiroyuki “Zama” Tanaka’s Omakase (Japanese for Chef’s Tasting) and explored the innovative dishes created by one of Philadelphia’s most venerated sushi chefs.

On March 19, 2011, at Urban Outfitters at the Navy Yard, prominent local chefs—including Mark Vetri, Michael Solomonov, Jeff Michard, Chip Roman, Kevin Sbraga, and Marci Turney—served dishes during a casual gathering. Guests learned more about ACHIEVEability, an organization that provides housing and supportive services so parents can pursue higher education and become self-sufficient. On Saturday, March 19, 2011, Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Inc. (Congreso), Philadelphia’s leading non-profit that works to strengthen the Latino communities, hosted its fifth annual black tie Gala Latina: Chillin’ in Chile. The Gala Latina, an event aimed at connecting Latinos and supporters of the Latino community, showcased Chilean culture with traditional dancers, experts on Chilean wine, a tribute to the 33 miners who survived two months trapped in a mine, and a menu infused with Chilean flavors. The Grand Ballroom at the Bellevue was transformed into a lush Chilean vineyard and will recognize the diverse regions of the country.
