On Thursday, September 15, 2011, Mitchell & Ness, industry leaders in authentic, vintage-inspired sports apparel , hosted the Fall 2011 private preview event during The Philadelphia Collection. The even provided guests with an exclusive look into new arrivals including the newest styles of vintage-inspired NFL, MLB, NHL and NBA apparel and headwear for men and women. Additionally, they received a sneak peak of the inspirations behind the designs and had the opportunity to speak with members of Mitchell & Ness’ talented design team. On Thursday, September 15, 2011, Philadelphia magazine, along with BMW and The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, hosted an exclusive wine tasting reception at The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. The evening’s attendees included executive physicians and oncologists from CHOP, the hospital's prominent Cancer Center supporters, and special guest Christopher Bachman of Robert Mondavi. Guests were able to explore the BMW 7 Series and the BMW 6 Series and one lucky guest won the opportunity of a lifetime—a two-day trip to the M Performance Driving School. On Thursday, September 15, 2011, The Friends of the Children's Crisis Treatment Center hosted a benefit aboard the Moshulu. The event was a huge success, raising nearly $53,000 for CcTC's efforts to provide high quality, comprehensive mental and behavioral health services for Philadelphia's children and their families. Guests enjoyed a beautiful night on the ship afloat the Delaware River, indulging in a delicious array of food, a top-shelf open bar, and dancing to live Caribbean-themed sounds by Verdict and DJ Francisco. Exciting prizes were raffled off, including vacations, tickets to sporting events gift certificates to Philadelphia's finest restaurants, and other one-of-a-kind experiences. On Wednesday September 14, 2011, Stephen Starr, Michael Solomonov, and Audrey Claire Taichman hosted a benefit cocktail party for the Philadelphia Fringe Festival at Pier 9 on Columbus Boulevard.
