On Tuesday, December 20, 2011, The Rittenhouse Hotel honored renowned Italian operatic tenor Luciano Pavarotti by naming room 1306 "The Pavarotti Suite." The dedication and reception was held in the suite and included a performance by Bill Davenport of the Academy of Vocal Arts. Photography by Jim Cottingham.
 
On Monday, December 12, 2011, the Curtis Institute of Music hosted a reception to celebrate the creation of a new annual fellowship established by the Consular Corps Association of Philadelphia. The reception took place in Lenfest Hall, the schoolís new 105,000-square-foot campus expansion on the 1600 block of Locust Street. The book, "How to Speak Money," was co-authored by the CNN financial experts and provides advice for the average consumer. Notable attendees included Cecily Tynan and Jennaphr Frederick. On Saturday, December 3, 2011, the 3rd Annual "Keep the Light Shining" Holiday Cocktail Party to benefit the Mommy's Light Lives On Fundģ was held at the Newton home of Mike and Lynn Doyle. The event raised more than $26,000 to help fund traditions for children and teens whose mothers are terminally ill or have died. The event featured a speech from on of the children currently being served by Mommy's Light as well as a silent auction and an ornament sale. Photography by Robert Webster.
