On Tuesday, February 2, 2010, The Philly Mag Restaurant Club hosted its fourth exclusive dinner for RC members at Chifa. Presented by Lexus, the event featured a special visit from the Iron Chef himself, Jose Garces. The 80 lucky diners feasted on a six-course dinner. Photography by Jessica Vermeer Hawkes.
 
On Saturday, January 30, 2010, the Philadelphia Orchestra celebrated its 153rd Anniversary Grand Concert and Ball at the Academy of Music. Guests enjoyed a performance by world-renowned singer-actor Sting. He performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra and with his own quartet of musicians, conducted by David Hartley. The classical portion of the program showcased Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, chief conductor and artistic director of the Dresden Philharmonic, leading the Philadelphia Orchestra in a program of masterpieces featuring guest tenor Juan Diego Flórez. The Academy Ball, chaired by Mrs. Fred L. Hudson, III, and Mr. Joseph A. Frick, immediately followed the performances and was held at the Park Hyatt Philadelphia at the Bellevue. On Friday, January 29, 2010, the 2010 Auto Show Black Tie Tailgate Preview Gala was held at the Philadelphia Convention Center. Guests previewed more than 700 cars that were on display, including exotics, antiques, and brand-new vehicles, and enjoyed food courtesy of STARR Events. The menu included specialties from area hot spots Alma de Cuba, Barclay Prime, Buddakan, Continental, El Vez, Parc, Pod, and Tangerine. On Sunday, January 28, 2010, potential buyers had the opportunity to view the spacious and luxurious units of 1706 Rittenhouse Square Street's Model Residence, complete with 10-foot ceilings and stunning 360-degree views. Project developers showcased a model that contained two full bedroom suites, a kitchen, den, two balconies, and more. The building also features private elevators in each unit and the city’s first automated parking system.
