On Saturday, April 16, 2010, Donors are Heroes, in conjunction with the Gift of Life Donor Program, hosted their 8th annual fundraising party at Hyatt Philadelphia at the Bellevue. On Monday, April 12th, 2010, the Philadelphia Scholars Program celebrated its 20th anniversary at Marc Vetri's Osteria. Guests enjoyed dinner and recapped the recent success of their Score 4 Scholarships Basketball Tournament, along with stories from scholarship recipients. The evening benefited the Philadelphia Scholars Program, which provides college scholarships to students from the School District of Philadelphia. Photography by Jessica Vermeer Hawkes.
On Saturday, April 10, 2010, the Curtis Student Assistance Fund hosted a dinner and silent auction at the Curtis Institute of Music. Guests enjoyed cocktails and a dinner buffet. They were also treated to a musical performance in the school's Field Concert Hall and a live auction featuring a specially created work by internationally recognized artist Moe Brooker. The evening's finale included invitations to one of seven different homes and apartments in the Rittenhouse Square area for a dessert reception and intimate recital by Curtis students. On, Friday, April 9, 2010, Temple's Tyler School of Art celebrated their 75th anniversary in the school's dramatic new Main Campus home. In true Beaux Arts Ball tradition, guests dressed from black tie to costume, and enjoyed Victory beer and hors d'oeuvres. Photography by Jake Schell.
On Thursday, April 8, 2010, the first meeting of the Greater Philadelphia Society Music Matters was held at Bob & Ron's World Wide Stereo in Montgomeryville. Some of the most elite audio and home theater equipment manufacturers attended, including Sunfire, B&W Speakers, Rotel Electronics, McIntosh Labs, NAD Electronics, Peachtree Audio, Monster Cable, and Klipsch. Guests enjoyed food from Jamie Hollander catering and Antoine Amrani Chocolates. Spirits were provided courtesy of Intercourse Brewing Co., Louis Latour Wines, and Tito's Vodka.
