Beneficial Bank, the Presenting Sponsor of the Philadelphia Freedoms, hosted VIP events with tennis stars Venus Williams and Andy Roddick at The Pavilion at Villanova University on the evenings of July 8 and 15. More than 100 VIP guests from the Philadelphia and Main Line regions attended the matches to cheer on the Freedoms as they took on the Washington Kastles and Boston Lobster teams. As a part of their commitment to the community, Beneficial Bank provided children from Philadelphia nonprofit organizations- Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education and Impact Services Corporation- with opportunities to learn from tennis pros and attend the Philadelphia Freedoms matches.
On Monay, June 28th, Councilman Jim Kenney, Bill Anderson of the WURD morning show, and the directors if Philly Girls in Motion, hosted the Philly Girls in Motion Kickoff Happy Hour at The Palm. Celebrity bartenders served drinks and collected tips to help support the new organization dedicated to nutrition and fitness for Philadelphia girls. Celebrity bartenders included Bill Anderson, head coach Phil Martelli of St. Josephís University menís basketball, head coach Bruiser Flint of Drexel University menís basketball, head coach Denise Dillon of Drexel University womenís vasketball, and former general manager and team president of the Philadelphia 76ers Billy King. On Monday, June 28, guests an amazing evening of food, wine, and fundraising for a great cause. Forty of the regionís best chefs created intimate 4-course culinary experiences tableside. On Sunday, June 27, Bob & Ron's World Wide Stereo hosted the third annual audio challenge car show. Competitions were held for sound quality, bass systems, domestics and imports with classes for novices and professionals, as well as a best of show category. The show featured a Porsche Targa 4S equipped with one of the most celebrated car audio systems in the world. Participants enjoyed complimentary Red Bull and a meet-and-greet with UFC Fighter Sean Riehl. More than 150 cars participated.
On June 23, 2010, guests mingled and enjoyed classic cocktails while perusing rare automobiles presented inside the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts to benefit United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia & Vicinity.
