The second annual Coaches Vs. Cancer Beach Ball, held Saturday, August 7th at the Stone Harbor Golf Club, grossed more than $30,000 to support both the American Cancer Society and its AstraZeneca Hope Lodge for cancer patients and their families. Among the 180 guests were Philadelphia Division I college basketball coaches Fran Dunphy of Temple, Phil Martelli of St. Joseph’s, James “Bruiser” Flint of Drexel, and Jerome Allen of Penn. Ree Dunphy and Judy Martelli, wives of Fran and Phil, were co-chairs of the charity event. Guests enjoyed a fun evening at the shore featuring live music by BLT, candid photos in the photo booth, homemade Springer’s Ice Cream, and delicious fudge and saltwater taffy from The Fudge Kitchen for dessert.

On Thursday, August 5th, president and owner of Bernie Robbins Fine Jewelers Harvey Rovinsky and Sabrina Tamburino Thorne celebrated summer elegance with A.Link designer Doug Sills during a private cocktail party at Girasole. Bernie Robbins Fine Jewelers featured an exclusive showing of A.Link jewelry designer Doug Sills’ breathtaking diamond collection. From everyday chic designs to exquisite formal pieces, A.Link diamonds provided guests with a night of shimmering delight. Hosted by television and Broadway personalities Nicole Parker and Paul Canaan, this benefit was held on August 1, 2010, at Grace Winery's outdoor amphitheatre nestled on the grounds of Sweetwater Farm Bed and Breakfast Proprietors Christopher and Vicki Le Vine and winemaker Sean Kramer treated guests to an elegant buffet. A Broadwaystyle cabaret featured performances by Philadelphia youth performers along with BDF Musical Director and composer Jeremy Schonfeld, Broadway favorites Titus Burgess, Carlos Encinias, James Kinney, and ABC Daytime star Nicholas Rodriguez All proceeds benefited The Broadway Dreams Foundation, a

On Wednesday, July 28, Best of Philly® winners, sponsors, VIPs and friends celebrated the launch of Philadelphia magazine’s annual Best of Philly® issue. The party was held at the National Constitution Center. Party guests enjoyed a variety of Ciroc cocktails, Sterling Vineyards wines, Blue Moon beer and hors d’ oeuvres by Max & Me Catering. Guests also checked out the newest Mercedes-Benz vehicles, danced to music by DJ Bizz and relaxed with classic movies and snacks in the HiFi House lounge.
