On Saturday, April 4, 2009 The Friends of Curtis hosted the "Cool. Classic. Curtis." benefit at The Curtis Institute of Music, where cocktails, dinner, and a live auction where held, and at six different homes on Rittenhouse Square, where after-dinner drinks, dessert, and musicals performances by Curtis students were held. On Thursday, April 2, 2009, Morton's The Steakhouse of Philadelphia launched their exciting new cocktail menu. The seasonal drinks range from $12-$15 and include the Heavenly Palm Beach Passion, Heavenly Strawberry Mint Margarita and the Cherry Bomb. Photography by Steve Kalinoski.
On Thursday, April 2, 2009, about 162 people attended the All About Art Patrons' Preview Party at Moss Rehab, held at Einstein at Elkins Park. The art of professional artists with disabilities was exhibited and for sale at the party. Guests also enjoyed a catered dinner and cocktails. Running until June 21st, the art show is open to the public every day from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
On Thursday, April 2, 2009, The Franklin Institute celebrated the 400th Anniversary of Galileo's Astronomical Discoveries. Guests enjoyed a buffet dinner and had the chance to see Galileo's original telescope and visit with special guest professor Paolo Galluzzi, Director of the Istituto e Museo di Storia della Scienza.
