On Saturday, April 18, 2009, Independence Blue Cross presented The 6th Annual American Cancer Society Coaches vs. Cancer Basketball Gala at the Park Hyatt at the Bellevue. Hoping to raise over $1 million in aid for the fight against cancer, the evening included food and cocktails, live music, dancing, and both silent and live auctions. On Friday, April 17, 2009, at the Park Hyatt at the Bellevue, Donors are Heroes threw its 7th Annual THE Party to celebrate National Donate Life Month. On Thursday, April 16th, 2009, SafeHome Philadelphia held its bi-annual Poker Players with a Heart tournament at The Hub in the Cira Centre. Over 175 guests enjoyed the night of poker, which also included a dinner from local restaurants, cocktails and jazz music. The event raised $75,000 for SafeHome, enabling them to provide homes for 20 families in need, in addition to the more than 80 they have already helped.
 
On Thursday, April 16, 2009, at The Residences at Dockside, the Greater Philadelphia Association of Realtors, along with Dockside, hosted the 2nd Annual Phillyís Hottest Realtors Fashion Show. The event raised $5,000 for The Career Wardrobe.
 
On Monday, April 6, 2009, popular American composer Marvin Hamlisch performed at the residence of Kathleen and Nicholas Chimicles. This was the first event of The Mann Center for the Performing Arts "Meet the Music," a series of concerts taking place in various Philadelphia residences. Proceeds benefit The Mann Centerís community engagement programs, which introduce the performing arts into the lives of over 54,000 Philadelphia-area children every year.
