On Thursday, September 17, 2009, Jason Matthew Salon partnered with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for a night of glitz, glamour, and casino games to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer. Attendees mingled with local celebrities, feasted on local fare, and won prizes, all in support of the cause.

On Wednesday, September 16, 2009, Professional Women’s Roundtable held their 7th Anniversary event at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. This year they honored Gloria Guard, of People’s Emergency Center, with the PWR’s PoWeR Award. The event also collected various items such as costumes and toys for PEC’S Annual Halloween Drive. On Tuesday, September 15, 2009, author Mitch Albom celebrated the worldwide launch of his latest book at the Park Hyatt Hotel at the Bellevue. It was a unique evening of entertainment with great storytelling, laughs and anecdotes, and even a little music featuring Tony Bennett.
