On Sunday, April 6, 2008, a sneak preview of the film "Universal Signs" was shown as part of the Philadelphia Film Festival. The film is the first full-length feature written in American Sign Language. Following the screening was a question and answer session with the writer-director, actors and producer, and later, a private reception was held at McCormick & Schmick's in Center City. On Monday, April 28, 2008, the Philadelphia Area Lincoln Mercury Dealer Association and the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition hosted the annual Teal Magnolia’s Fashion Show in the Cherry Hill Crowne Plaza Hotel. On Wednesday, April 2, 2008, the Young Advocates for Mural Arts (YAMA) held a benefit concert for the Mural Arts Program. The event, "My Murals, My Music, My Philadelphia," was held at Johnny Brenda's and sponsored by Memphis Flats. Local bands No Outlet, The Old Souls, Jotto and DJ Jon Gill performed.
