On Tuesday, September 16, 2008, restaurateur Stephen Starr celebrated Buddakan’s 10th Anniversary by donating a portion of all proceeds from its anniversary week to Project H.O.M.E. Project H.O.M.E. supporters, board members, and staff celebrated with an evening of cocktails and hors d’ouevres.

On Sunday, September 14, 2008, Philadelphia Wedding Style, a premier bridal event, featured some of the most prestigious names in the wedding industry at the Ritz-Carlton. From Bakeries and bands to florists and photographers, bridal resources were on hand to consult brides-to-be. The guests were invited to a cocktail reception, a fashion show and brunch with fashion expert Cliff Martell, and delicious food from the Ritz-Carlton's catering menu.

On Saturday, September 13, 2008, the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy for Television Arts and Sciences presented the 2008 Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards. The late Edie Huggins was honored with a posthumous presentation of the chapter’s prestigious Governor’s Award.
