Actor and activist Richard Gere received the 2007 Marian Anderson Award — given annually to an artist whose good works benefit humanity — at the Kimmel Center on Tuesday, November 13th.
Memphis Flats, which will house 72 design-driven loft condominiums, hosted a groundbreaking celebration at it's Fishtown location on Friday, November 9th, 2007.
Laurel House hosted its annual luncheon, "Breaking the Silence," at Sherman Mills in East Falls on Thursday, November 8th. The luncheon marked 27 years for Laural House in its fight against domestic violence, and honored District Attorney Bruce L. Castor, Jr.
Three hundred guests attended a dinner at the Park Hyatt and a concert at the Kimmel Center on Monday, November 5th, to celebrate the opening of the Curtis Symphony's season. $188,000 was raised for Curtis's Student Assistance Fund.
The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts hosted it's Bacchanal 9th Annual Wine Gala and Auction on Saturday, November 3rd. The Academy selected Jean-Michel Cazes, proprietor of Château Lynch-Bages and it's family of vineyards, as its honorary winemaker for the auction.
