An event held on June 21, 2005, Once Upon a Nation is a summer-long celebration of American history, brought to life by storytelling. The event was held at the Free Quaker Meeting House in Philadelphia, PA. Some programs include "1776", (June 18), "Tippler's Tour" (June 16th), "Summer of Treason" (June 30th) and "Jefferson" (June 26th).

Philadelphia Futures and professional baseball players Doug Glanville, Mike Lieberthal, Randy Wolf, Chase Utley and Jason Michaels hosted a celebration to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Sponsor-A-Scholar Program. The event raised funds for Philadelphia Futures who provides inner-city students with support and resources.

Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America held a Renaissance Ball on Saturday, May 7th at the Hyatt Regency at Penn's Landing. The Ball was held to support the Philadelphia/Delaware Valley chapter of the CCFA. The evening included cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, a sit-down dinner and dancing.
