CN8 News Anchor Arthur Fennell, teams up with Philadelphia's legendary music mogul, Kenny Gamble for the 4th annual Arthur Fennell & Kenny Gamble Celebrity Billiards Championship. The championship featured national and local celebrities and other invited VIP guests. The Celebrity supported charitable game of pool will raise funds for The Arthur Fennell Foundation and Gamble's Universal Companies, both committed to raising funds for health education and outreach activities in Philadelphia's underpriviledged communities.

On August 10th, Daily News columnist Stu Bykofsky hosted his annual Candidates ComedyNight to raise money for Variety-The Children's Charity. It's a show in which candidates like Philadelphia District Attorney, Democrat Lynne Abraham takes the stage and tries to be funny on purpose. The show started during the 1991 mayoral campaign in Philadelphia and has grown since then into a "must do" event for candidates. Variety is a non-profit oranization run by volunteers that offers services and programs that improve the quality of life for cildren with disabilities. Some of those include, educational and therapeuticand recreational programs. Variety also offers many other opportunities such as afterschool programs, dance and The Golf-BuddyProgram.
