The People Pet Partnership held a fundraiser cocktail party and auction on Wednesday, May 12th at the Seraphim Art Gallery. The PPP works with area shelters and was created to offer potential pet adopters more opportunities to meet adoptable pets in neighborhood settings as opposed to a shelter. Their next outing? Philadelphia Magazine and the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board presented two nights of Winemaker's Dinners - hosted at our area's upscale restuarants by high-profile winemakers from many of the world's most prestigious vineyards. Some participating restaurants not pictured in these pages included: Coleman restaurant at Normandy Farm; Marsha Brown; Solefood; La Famiglia; Ruth's Chris Steakhouse; Angelina; Moshulu; LaCroix; Fountain at the Four Seasons; Susanna Foo; Tangerine; Capital Grille; Union League; La Veranda; Panorama; Twenty21; Savona; Jake's; Le Mas Perrier; Dilworthtown Inn; London Grill; Philadelphia Fish and Co; Grill at the Ritz; Smith and Wollensky; Sullivan's Steakhouse; and Joseph Ambler Inn.
 
Once again, the Philadelphia Magazine annual Wine Festival's Grand Tasting sold out within days of tickets being available. This year's tasting was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott at the Convention Center on Tuesday, May 4th.
 
Philadelphia magazine's Design Home 2004â„¢, located in the Water Mill Community on 35 pristine acres on the edge of Springton Lake in Media, PA, will be open for public tours Thursdays through Mondays from May 1st through May 24th. Using nothing but the finest materials and cutting-edge technology inside and outside, the team of talented and ingenuous builders and designers created a truly magnificent home. All of the proceeds will benefit MANNA, a non-profit organization that delivers nourishment to people living with HIV/AIDS in the greater Philadelphia area. www.phillymag.com/designhome
 
Philadelphia Magazine, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, and Viking Kitchen teamed up to offer several cooking classes as part of Philadelphia Magazine's 2004 Wine Festival at Viking's Main Line showroom on Saturday, May 1st. The chefs paired their culinary creations with wines from Sterling Vineyards, Beaulieu Vineyards, or well-known French negociant, Barton and Gustier.
