Former Tangerine chef, Christopher Painter, heads up the kitchen at Stephen Starr's latest addition to the Philadelphia restaurant scene, Angelina. The new eatery features genuine Italian cooking, as opposed to fusion or Americanized versions of Italian dishes. The gorgeously designed space at Seventh and Chestnut was done by designers Owen Kamihira and Jun Aizaki. Check out the inviting bar with its wall o' wine for a pre-dinner cocktail. This spot is hot!

Denim nightclub hosted the Bikini Beach Bash on Thursday, July 24th, complete with celeb attendees, like DJ Jazzy Jeff, a gaggle of girls from the Philadelphia Charge, and a sprinkling of Sixers and Eagles players. At the end of the night there was the official bikini contest, which quickly turned into what appeared to be a strip contest as the girls shed those pesky bikinis atop the bar. Sorry guys, out of respect for innocent bystanders there is no photographic record of that.

As part of a month-long summer music concert series, the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra performed on August 7th in Rittenhouse Square. The free concert was attended by couples lolling on picnic blankets with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, young marrieds with a baby or two covered in ice cream dribbles, and the occasional jogger, annoyed by the throngs blocking the pavement.

To celebrate the kick-off of the Philadelphia International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, the director and stars of the film Latter Days gathered for a pre-screening party. Jacqueline Bisset, one of the movie's stars, was on hand to introduce the cast at the theater later in the evening.

The Global Interdepence tk held its annual dinner at the Four Seasons. Since they put it so eloquently, this is their story: "The GIC is a non-profit organization that recognizes the increasing economic and political interdependence of nations. GIC is committed to the expansion of global trade, believing investment and finance in a sustainable free trade environment is a positive instrument for reducing international tensions and improving worldwide living standards." Oh. Is that all?
